Bismarckia Nobilis - Time for spear

Hello,

I have received 3 bismarckia nobilis seeds a bit ago and within 2 weeks, I had 2 germinated seeds! The other seed still hasn’t germinated unfortunately. I planted my germinated seeds in 15 gal pots filled 3/4 way full of soil to allow room for the long tap root but I still have no signs of the first leaf/spear coming out. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for it to show after planting the germinated seed?

Thank you so much!

Hi again, I've germinated bismarckia 8 months ago, they do a really deep root, and then they start to pop. As you can see in the photo they do a really deep root before poping, the photo of the one sprouting I took it 2 months after germination. So from germination, normally 1 to 2 months on sprouting.

Awesome, just the answer I was looking for. It has been about a month so maybe any day now. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to see the little red tip sprout to show!

Roots are very sensitive so take care when potting up or planting out in the yard.

I filled a 15g pot with soil and just planted them in there so that I wouldn’t have to worry about repotting them. ☺️
