Palms - Time of germination

Hi, 

I am looking for a matrix indicating the average germination times according to the palm species with the optimal temperature. Would you have any links / websites to share with me? What are your own experiences with certain palm species? Thanks 😉

If you say which species you want to know about people might well chip in with relevant experiential data. Also, the RPS website has lots of comments involving both germination time and temperature for many species. A difficulty would be controlling for seed freshness, which often makes a great deal of difference, and which is usually difficult to know unless you literally pick the fruit from the tree.

A table of germination conditions for all palm species would be a fantastic resource, but I'm not aware that anyone's ever attempted to collate one. If I'm wrong I should be pleasantly surprised. It's a good idea, however. It maybe would get more traction on the 'discussing palm trees' forum.

The comment about WHICH SPECIES matters.  NOT all species like heat and the heat that some like could be in 10 degree F increments.  Once you decide on a species, the BEST TOOL ON THIS FORUM IS THE SEARCH BOX FOUND AT THE TOP RIGHT just under your name.  I suggest first using the main discussion topic, then entering a single word like "germination" in that box and clicking on this forum only.  If you enter multiple words, you merely increase the amount of posts you will have to sort through.  I can't remember many if any posts about germination in this POT topic.
