Jubaea_James760
Bought a 1 gallon from my local Lowes here in Victorville, CA. I lost the tag & It grows reasonably fast. I've separated several pups & now have several other 1 gallons of these now. They have been in pots outside all winter with an ultimate low of 20.4f & TONS of nights below 32f, 6 inches of snow & hard freezes & looks really good still! Any thoughts of the ID? Hesperia,Southern CA (High Desert area). Zone 8b Elevation; about 3600 ft. Lowest temp. I can expect each year 19/20*f lowest since I've been growing palms *13(2007) Hottest temp. Each year *

Different enough that what I'm growing that it is probably not the same species but I wanted to add the comment because it does appear to be something that will remain small but do a lot of clumping. Nathan's suggestion on Aloe brevifolia sure looks like a viable and probable id. 2 33.0782 North -117.305 West at 72 feet elevation
Jubaea_James760
I'd be thrilled if it's a brevifolia. It definitely resembles them. I'll post pictures when it flowers if that can helps with the Identification? Thanks you guys! 1 1 Hesperia,Southern CA (High Desert area). Zone 8b Elevation; about 3600 ft. Lowest temp. Merlyn
I bought a "Tiger Tooth" aloe from Lowe's a couple of years ago. It was in soil that was way too dense and mucky, so it died on me pretty quick. If it survived heavy freezes and snow I should definitely try it again! Here's some other good photos: https://www.agaveville.org/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=774
Jubaea_James760
Holy moly! I didn't realize it spread like that, lol.. I'll have to maintain it to a smaller area since my planter is about 60 sq.ft. It's a 9ft. diameter circle, so I really need to focus on dwarf aloes, agaves & other succulents. I have one of those Aloe juvenna's too! I killed two others in there pot for whatever reason. They were pretty neglected so might have been lack of water? I just found that site (Agaveville) this morning. Really cool site. I've been researching all morning 😂 Hesperia,Southern CA (High Desert area). Zone 8b Elevation; about 3600 ft. Lowest temp. Merlyn
@Jubaea_James760yeah, Agaveville is a great source of info on all things agave, aloe, etc. And they have a photo gallery for palms, cycads, agaves, and a lot more. Lots of great info over there!
