For Sale: 1 (one) Aggressive Growing Cyrtostachys renda/Red Sealing Wax/Lipstick Palm

This is a highly unusual Cyrtostachys renda plant, sourced from my 2017 bulk order from a Thai seed company(near Chiang Rai, but disappearing during Covid).   It was one of a highly successful (66%) germination group. I selected it because it was a very aggressive grower; other seedlings were 1 1/2" tall, this one double that size. Shortly thereafter, while the general crop was growing their first leaves, this one was sending out shoots, all quickly following with leaves.  Then the main stalk of a 7" seedling send out a 2" frond with seeds!  The seeds remained small and eventually this main stalk and the seeds dried and dropped, DOA. Since then, this palm has been filling out this large pot.

So,  here is offered  a very aggressive growing CR plant. In the orchid world, these pattern of growth would signal a high likelihood of a 4N diploid DNA structure. In our palm world, I suspect many could offer better wisdom, but I cannot.

I am now in Vero Beach, not following my own growing advice. Generally,  when living in Miami  my Cyrtostachys renda/red sealing wax/lipstick palms were placed in a shallow end of a pond, enough water to keep the palm's "toes wet."  However, in Vero that would mean lugging in a waterlogged plant each time overnight temperatures of 55-60  F are forecast. A pond environment would be, I suspect, highly favored by this plant. Today, from the driveway up to the plant top, it measures at 45"

I am at the stage of my life , anxious  readying to transfer to Plainfield(NJ).  I will become the live-in "Papa Bob" for my two grandchildren. This plant must be sold.

FOR SALE:  $500. As described and pictured and  in pot, one aggressively growing Cyrtostachys renda palm with an unusually high number of shoots.  Pick up(South Indian River County. Shipping arragements,as you pay for and arrange  are  possible.

Very nice palm. I once had red & green lipsticks until they outgrew our birdcage and had to be sold. I’m the same age range as you and empathize: no more lugging massive palms

I hope someone who knows how to grow this species gives it a forever home in the south subtropics.

Cyrtostachys renda var. 'Super Bushy' ...

I have seen Sealing Wax's that get bushy like this, but this is another level. There is a lot of interesting potential in that plant. One could take it and do a number of different growing ideas.

As with Meg's suggestion above, you could ask @PALM MOD to move the topic over to the For Sale section.
