When Dr. Baker from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew came to Hilo, he gave a talk about his field work in Borneo and the incredible palm diversity he found there. But field work is only part of a broader collaborative project he leads that attempts to build an evolutionary roadmap for all flowering plants.

During his residency at The Merwin Conservancy, Dr. Baker gave a talk about Kew's ambitious Tree of Life program and what its completion means to scientific research and its varied applications in conservation.  Learn the rest of the story and the important role palms play in understanding the big picture.

A free virtual broadcast of his talk will be shared by The Merwin Conservancy, and available for replay at anytime to those who register.
