Greetings,

I am trying to network with IPS members in Indonesia as I have a good friend that travels to Jakarta and Sumatra a couple of times each year to visit friends and family.  English speaking preferred but not absolutely required since my friend can interpret.

Anyone can PM me or simply reply.

Thanks!

Hi Mark, local indo member here. Let me know how I can help.

Hey, met dateng! Where in Bali are you? I spent 3 years as a bule there 😅. I miss the garden I had in Lukluk even though it was very small.

Hey, I live in Mengwi.. pretty much neighbours to lukluk 😁

Nice to meet you, what was growing in your garden over there?

Ah neighbours indeed! I used to pass through Mengwi often.

I was growing the typical stuff you find in Bali I guess, which were all very exotic to me: Plumerias, Dypsis, Alocasias, Ylang-ylang, Homalomena, Cempaka, some vanda orchids and many many bromeliads. I still have a plumeria which I brought as a cutting from my garden in Bali and a hibiscus schizopetalus which I got from a big one in Sidemen. I even had a kecombrang in a pot which made me a laughing stock for my neighbours ("dia ada kecombrang di pot, hahahaha!!!")

The bit I miss the most was a dead plumeria tree on which I had attached epiphytes and orchids. I loved how it looked. I also miss those amazing Heliconia Caribaea.. stunning plants that would never grow here.

And you Gus?
