Growing double trunk robusta

Recommended Posts

we grow a lot of seedlings mainly windmill, robusta, and some filifera. I potted these two seedlings together last spring. My Q is should I go ahead and plant them in a big pot this spring and leave them for several seasons and then repot? Wanting to eventually add them to nursery stock as a good size double

Not sure who your intended audience is. Robustas don't look that good in groups, but in OKC they won't last long, either.

I have Trachycarpus in triples, but they have thinner trunks and fit the home landscape better.

It’s all in the effort you want to put into it..  We have a 6’ robusta coming up on 4th summer In the ground 🤷🏽 not to mention a large sabal. Out of all the palms we sell 5-7gal robusta are by far the most we sell. Thanks 😊

I had a nice filibuster for a few years. Got above the roof of the house just in time for 5 snows in one winter, 2010. Covering plants becomes a burden with age.
