Is this palm mislabeled?

Was at a nursery today and saw two palm specimen that is labeled Hydriastele Beguinii aka Obi Island Palm.

I thought this palm has large leaves that are either not split or split randomly.

This is the label on both pots.

To me it looks more like a Chambeyronia macrocarpa.

well, I am looking for a Chambeyronia macrocarpa and I am sure I can find a place for a Hydriastele Beguinii but I am not buying a Chambeyronia macrocarpa disguised as a Hydriastele Beguinii at this price.

Yeah no kidding!  That's more like a $50-100 flamethrower at $400.  Keep in mind that the flamethrower will want some shade in Ft. Lauderdale.  There were a bunch of threads here last summer about torched flamethrowers with too much sun.  If you are picking a spot for one, make sure it's got PM shade and at most some direct AM sun...with no reflective white walls next to it.

Mislabeled, overpriced, and "on it's tippy toes"

Although it looks pretty far along so I'd probably still buy it for 1/4 of the labeled price.....she needs a home.

That palm has already had a difficult life, its likely been container bound for years.  You're better off getting a 7 gallon it will be a happier palm in your yard  now and in the future.   When I first started growing palms I wanted them as big as possible.  But I was told that planting them earlier often led to a nicer palm.  I have planted small and larger palms of the same species and so far the smaller plan ting has looked better within 5 years.  Today I see what I was told all along by more experienced growers.  Planting big trees I would only consider for palms that are borderline cold hardy(zone pushing), or palms that take decades to mature(like jubaea etc).  Chambeyronia macrocarpa is a pretty quick grower in a warm climate when fed and watered. properly   Your best views of red leaves will be when the leaves are closer to the ground anyway so a small one should give more years of the best color.
