TWC reports temps last week as 12/23: 6°/20°, 12/24: 16°/25°, 12/25: 17°/35°. Approx 60 hours below 32°

A house near me has 3 P.sylvestris a Jelly palm and a European Fan palm. I think the P.roebellinis were removed last summer.

The title of this post doesn't match the content. But the content is interesting. The Atlanta palm lovers were really getting used to a good string of mild winters. But this is what happens when you zone push too hard.

You're correct on both issues. The bronzing shown is freeze-dried but not infection (as yet). Growers outside of CA and FL ofttimes deceive themselves as to what can be grown. For us, Butia and Chamaerops are out of zone. S.palmetto is marginal.

There is a pindo palm in my town that resembles that, it’s fried and droopy with a spear up, all of the other pindos surrounding it and in town have no damage at all. Maybe it was already sick to begin with.
