palmfriend
Happy New Year from Okinawa! I am growing a couple of these Chamadoreas (sp?) from seeds - found in our local Botanical garden - they have sprouted easily and have grown up - can't be older than six years max - and are fruiting constantly through the year. Love to see something like that in January.... I am glad they are doing so well over there! Lars

Tracy
Ravenea glauca, two palms. First the male plant loaded up with flower spathes that should open soon. The first spathe opened about 6 weeks ago, so the others can't be too far behind. The open spathe shows a female inflorescence on a different plant. It's the first time this one has flowered, so I was happy that I now have both male and female in the same garden. 3 1 33.0782 North -117.305 West at 72 feet elevation

I remember reading that Kentiopsis and Actinokentia were degraded as unique genus and lumped in with the Chambeyronia genus but must have missed the memo on Burretiokentia getting downgraded. Is there a link to any papers to read up on this? I enjoyed reading about the changes to Dypsidinae in the paper that William Baker shared with us and would enjoy reading about the consolidations into Chambeyronia. Thanks you in advance if you or anyone else can point me in the right direction for some light reading. And so I'm not too far off topic, Chamaedorea neurochlamys getting ready to flower. 1 2 33.0782 North -117.305 West at 72 feet elevation
