Can I tie up my palm fronds for some time?

Since we might get some dips at night soon I figure I can just as well tie up the fronds on the most tender stuff and put Christmas lights around them. That way I can just turn on the lights wrap some burlap around it all. Then unwrap and turn off the lights when it warms up in the day.

Yes. I’ve had a trunking Howea Forsteriana tied up for a year and it’s still growing fine with no decline noted.  Forgot about it actually. Good lookin’ out.
