Very nice. A place near me sells them that size or better for $30. Small ones in 6" pots for $8. That's between Easter and Halloween. Place is closed now until next year.

Hey I see you're in a zone where it's not hardy. Especially not in a pot. Are you keeping it inside in the winter or somewhere cool like in the garage? I've never had one as an indoor plant and I'm curious if they can cope with that. Cheers!

They can go in complete darkness in a garage for a few months if its cool (Under 60-50F preferably).  Inside in a heated space low humidity would have to be watched.

Yeah I thought so like most temperate/subtropical palms. But some people even grow CIDPs inside quite sucssesfully while Chamaerops don't do well indoors. I would think that Trachys need some temperture fluctuations to do well. As they don't seem to do well in the tropics. Even in shade.

Edit: Are you the guy with the Mule palm from YouTube? I think I recognise it from your pictures.

My Chamaerops does great indoors 👍🏻🥰 I keep 24 separate species of palm indoors 10 months of the year.  My collection grows each year 👍🏻🥰

Wow! That's crazy I've never seen them doing well indoors. How do they grow? And do you have issues in winter, because of the lack of light in combination with warm temperatures? Do they get sun burn when you put them outside? September to June is practically all year long LOL.

It needs a grow bulb and I run a gallon through it every other day almost.

And if I don’t acclimate carefully at the end of May absolutely they will scorch.  Our open prairie sun is very unforgiving 🥺

Huh! Very interesting. So like with outdoor plants you can actually make everything work indoors as well. 😁 Yup, I'm not sure but your location is just above the US's dry but winter cold inland states right? The Dakotas and Montanta...
