aztropic
Interesting palm seldom seen in Arizona. These have been occasionally available at local nurseries, but here's your chance to grow your own from seed. Whoopie! aztropic
These have all now been distributed... 'You snooze, you lose'. Many other species still available as 'free' seeds, only cost being to mail a SASE and you WILL receive a few of the species you request. For a $1.20 postage investment in the USA,you WILL have FRESH,viable seeds, ready for you to sprout. Definitely worth the experience to decide if growing palms from seed is in your future. I've been doing it over 25 years, Not hard to sprout, (heat mat required over winter) but patience is a virtue. It generally takes about 3 years minimum to produce a NICE 1 gallon plant - longer for slower growing (rare) species. It will definitely give you insight as to why 'rare' palms, seem expensive to obtain. Grow from seed, and you will appreciate your palms that much more. Opportunity is knocking... aztropic Mesa, Arizona 4 Mesa, Arizona Temps between 29F and 115F each year
