Palm Exchange suggestion

The PalmTalk team has done a great service for the palm community with this forum! It has a modern feel with many nice features and the price can't be beat! That said, there are some pain points with the Palm Exchange forum.

• The listings last forever even if the item is no longer available. This is clutter which the user must hunt through, and there's a lot of it.   
• Listings that that aren't on the first couple pages get 'buried' behind the others. Are they still available or not? We may never know! 

A possible solution is found in how the exchange boards are listed. A tabular index (or "search page") will provide a superior experience.

Search and sort on a few basic fields goes a long way. Of course, this means the seller needs a few new inputs.

 

Just in case it gets lost in translation, my suggestion is not to change to the nature of the exchange forum. Merely an enhancement made possible by the addition of a few fields. The forum thread still exists and everyone still posts as they please but the gain in usability is big.

I don’t know the limitations of our software but am sure our moderator/administrator will read your post although it could be awhile with our Director’s meeting October 9 making us all extra busy.
 

The format you presented is certainly easy to read.
 

The only initial thought I have is that even though items are sold or given away, I have private messaged the persons previously offering them and ultimately ended up getting a future batch (if seed) or suggestions on where to find others. So I would personally prefer that expired items remain searchable rather than disappear after an expiration date.
