I ran out to grab dinner, and found this Roystonea in the parking lot who’s crown just totally collapsed.  No bad coloration, and it’s been there for years.  Diagnosis?

Also saw this 15 foot Chamaerops humilis there and some tall Thrinax radiata.   You don’t see many Chamaerops humilis in these parts.  They used to keep this one pretty clean, but suckers have been allowed to flourish these past years…   Or is this A. Wrightii????

I was looking this up the other day trying to find information because my friend palm has a penciling effect on their but I'm unsure if it's boron or a potassium deficiency or maybe something else, I'd also like to know

Lightening does make sense….  We had tons of thunderstorms the past week.  I guess that would explain why it looks so green.  Must have just happened.

I third the lightning strike idea, resembles it for sure. If you get close sometimes you can smell the damage.
