Serenoa repens sericea seed for sale, Silver Saw Palmetto fresh August 2022

Fresh seed collected late August 2022.

Serenoa repens  is the Latin name for the palm commonly known as a Saw Palmetto. The variety for these seeds is sericea which is the silver type.

The seed are viable for many months after collection and typically germinate the following summer here in S FL. They are not fast germinating seeds compared with some other palms.

This is a low growing palm not normally getting more than about 8' tall before bending over. Makes a good border plant in groups for large areas.

Just curious, what color are they when picked? And do you have to remove the fruit?
