Use a coarse, well-draining garden soil amended with pumice, perlite, leca etc. Do not use potting soil direct from bag from the dollar store. I advise against MiracleGro products because they turn mucky and cause root rot. Unfortunately, MG makes up 90%+ of all garden soils. Currently, I use Sta Gro in the yellow bag mixed with coco coir and perlite. I grow my cacti in pure pumice from General Pumice in CA. I'm always on the lookout for coarse garden soil but every time I find something I like the BB discontinues it to make room for another mucky MG product.

Do not let your Bizzies sit in soggy potting mix, esp. in your climate. They want/need sun and high heat.
