Not a surprise..., there is NO state in the country that has a bigger average temperature contrast between north and south in Winter than Texas, not even a close second.

Texas gets some wild weather for sure being next to the warm gulf and open to the Great Plains!

We have 82F in the forecast for today, 31F for Sunday night. Its also 72F at the time this post was written (1:36 am). Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times!

It has been in the 80's in south Texas too. Winter has been deferred, but it will not be denied. Monday morning is forecast for 26F, but with no clouds or wind, the temperature will likely be in the mid to low teens for me.

Just finished bringing Patio Squad inside. Left the Washy outside with a flannel sheet over him.

 

My apartment is in full on jungle mode now.

I think it's more the Rockies to the west that make cold incursions more pronounced, rather than just open plains.
