Lost Syagrus schizophylla

Not long ago someone mentioned Syagrus schizophylla.  Then it hit me I think I have one.  LOL  A bird planted a mock orange right in front of the Syagrus hiding it.  There were also about 1/2 dozen seedlings that were going there.  Cut them down too.  Don't have time to carefully dig out and transplant.  LOL

Sun is not right for the last picture.  I'll try for a better one in the morning if it's not pouring as the weather guys say 70% chance of rain tomorrow.   Don't really need any more, weeds are popping up all over the place after a month of 6+ inches of rain.  Had to break out the back pack sprayer and Round Up yesterday.  Didn't even cover1/2 of the weeds w/two 4 gallon loads.

First picture is from 2009

That hefty trunk to the left is Attalea phalerata.  It's been in the ground about 20 years.

Better lighting in the morning, but heavy overcast.  Gonna rain HARD in a few hours.  The islands ground is saturated and all the rain is going into the ocean and not the aquifer where it is needed.
