I could  clean up this Trachy trunk a little more but all the fiber I have just pulled off was without using any tools ; I just pulled it off by hand . I pulled on it till it became harder to pull off . It still has more dead petiole bases so I may continue defibering higher up  using sharp hand clippers . 

Here's what I did in about 10 minutes by hand :

Thanks , it's been several years since I defibered the very bottom of that Trachy . Today  the fiber was so rotten that it pulled off really easily . I was actually surprised how easily it pulled off .
