Hey I was wondering when my Windmill Palm gets bigger, can I attach air plants to the trunk? or will they interfere with it?

Thanks a lot :D

Won't hurt it at all, just be sure they stay misted.. and don't leave them outside in winter.

I've never heard of anyone attaching plants to the trunk of a Trachycarpus. Just saying.

I personally wouldn't do it myself, although I don't see any reason why you can't. It would certainly make for some interesting pictures...

Thanks :)

:greenthumb: ..If you're really up for doing something bold, you can also attach an easy to cultivate Epiphytic -type Orchid to the trunk ( once bigger ) as well. A little more of a challenge and will require some homework, compared to most Air Plants, but worth it.. Won't hurt the palm at all.. Epiphytes, of any kind, only use the surface of anything they attach themselves to as support.. Something different for sure.

I've seen it done here but the air plants are brought in for winter so it's more of a temporary installation using wire.

Hey, It will be quite a while before i can attach air plants to the Palm. The trunk is only 7" tall , although when i bought it on June 8th 2020, in the short amount of time I had it, it has grown about 2" and put out three fronds and one spear so far...
