Can Potassium Alum be fertilizer?

Here in the Philippines the locals use something called "tawas" as deodorant. It is dirt cheap so I decided to give it a try and it's waaaaaaay more effective than commercial stick deodorant. But that's beside the point. When I was researching tawas more, I learned it's potassium alum. I know palms love potassium so now I'm wondering if I can use it as a dirt cheap fertilizer for them.

It is used to adjust soil pH for acid loving plants, pH(4 to 5.50, so I'd say no its not a good way to add potassium for palms.  Many palms will have micronutrient deficiencies at that pH level.
