Pic is a little blurry, but what I’m seeing is all female flowers and you can see that the tips are open like little petals of a flower, they also look a little brown so most likely pass their receptive period. I’m not seeing any male flowers, but the majority would’ve been on those brown stems that extend out. The male flowers typically drop off after releasing their pollen. If the females accepted any pollen, the waiting game begins and the seeds will start to develop.

Matt in Temecula, CA

Hot and dry in the summer, cold with light frost in the winter. Halfway between the desert and ocean

Well looks like I had one of mine open up, possibly during the rain storm we had yesterday as I didn't see it open the day before.  Most of the male flowers have fallen off already and any movement causes others to drop.  Only see a handful of female flowers and no visible signs of pollen...

I don't know what to make of my BXHoehnei Hasn't done much. Wondering if I got one that wasn't a successful crpss. I think it was one of Patric's first batches. Purchased it maybe two years ago.

I’ve got my Butia x weddellianum in the ground now for about a year and it’s cranking. Hybrid vigor for sure. I’m surprised how fast it’s growing considering it’s parentage.
