Guihaia Argyrata Male Wanted

Recommended Posts

I've been wasting huge flowers every year on my female.  I really need a male for my collection.  If you know of anyone that has one I will make a very one sided trade/ purchase.

Anyone have any G. argyrata small plants for sale to ship? I've been looking for a while, but can't find any.

Unfortunately, @TexasColdHardyPalms hasn't been around for over two years at this point.  Most of the palms they had were wiped out by the arctic blast in Texas in 2021.  In regard to the plants, I did an order for seeds from RPS a while back, but didn't get any to sprout.  In my travels, I've not seen them for sale.  Here is the RPS link if anyone else wants to follow all of the protocols to order seeds:

The one comment from almost 20 years ago, doesn't seem too optimistic. He does mention the root size and the required pot you'll need if you have any luck at all.

Slowest palm you’ll ever grow. I had about a dozen 1gal plants that were 10yrs +old. Takes 15-20yrs to have anything to look at. I recently saw 10-15gal plants offered that were 25-30yrs old. They sold as soon as the post went up.
