Newly planted trachy folded

I planted this trachy 2 days ago in a mix of clay, multi purpose compost, John innes no 3, ericaceous, perlite and grit, I watered it with 5x 6 liter cans of water 2 days ago and 2x cans yesterday, (I don't have hosepipe lol) is this enough water or does it need more? Do I water everyday? I noticed the leaves are still folded like it was in the pot.

Mate, looks good to me, I think that the leaves will remain folded. That is how they look.

Cheers Steve

It is not dead, it is just senescence.

The palm is not in top shape but will probably be ok with time.  Planted it will look better next year after establishing in the ground.

I had this happen to mine when I transplanted it into the ground, it never recuperated.  Hopefully, your will have a better fate, but it is a sign of stress.

But if this was happening before the transplanting, then, YES, you had not been watering enough.  When I watered my containerized ones, they reverted to completely normal.

Thanks for reply the leaflets are a bit folded now only on older leafs and I noticed the flowers have grown longer, is this a good sign?

I would think it's just the transplant issue or it may have been root bound in a pot and have some root rot issues it will grow out of.  A palm like most shrub/tree plants will take 1 year or more to take off and grow well.
