They're terrific palms.  I have about 8 of them that I've grown from seedling, now big (in addition to two other species of Trachycarpus).

All of mine except for one is containerized in a cold garage. The one in the ground has not been protected this year. Our minimum was 16 F. and it looks great.

But this weather has been very mild, I've lost others in the years of "polar vortices".

Wow, that many? That is pretty awesome! It has been a very warm January especially.

Here's a T. princeps seedling of mine not minding the snow last winter either. It hasn't snowed significantly this winter yet.

So beautiful. Assuming they all survived? I love seeing pics of palms in the snow.

Has anyone started unwrapping their palms yet? My windmill made it all winter with 0 protection!

I unwrapped mine a week or so ago.  Mine didn't need wrapping this year but I was gone for a while and can't take the chance.  You should be ok now but always keep a lookout especially on small palms for spear rot well into the next month or 2.  The last 2 winters have been unusually warm for me here according to my chart as well.

I only put lights on mine, but they were exposed all winter. Really only need protection from the rare polar vortex events here.

I keep thinking every year we are due for that one horrible, long winter, but maybe, and hopefully I will be wrong! I hope everyone out there is healthy and feeling ok!

We got an unexpected winter storm mid April.  Temps are still 33+ but I hope all that weight is okay.

Is that a coconut in the bottom right? These pictures are insane! Must be really rare for snow down there.

Yep those are coconuts! Snowed 0 times in 20th century, but already twice in this century haha. But I'm not complaining, hasn't been blow 27-28F since 1989.

WOW! That is sooo amazing! Thank you for sharing those. I love the lights. Glad we all survived the winter. Now we have something else that we need to survive.
