Please recommend some palms to keep indoors

Hi

First of all I want to let you know that I searched the forums prior to post and couldn't come up with threads answering my question.

I want to start a few indoors palms from seed this winter. I don't want the usual suspects (P. canariensis, H. fosteriana, Washingtonias,  S.romanzoffiana, P.  roebelenii)

I am thinking Brahea edulis for example, slow growing and likes dry conditions. What else out of the ordinary would you suggest for dry indoor conditions. I do drag my palms outside on warm winter days.

Thxs

Many Chamaedoreas do well indoors. Braheas may not do well in a dark, cold, dry house. They need sun and heat. Also, look at Rhapis sp and never discount a well grown Howea

Thxs meg, Chamaedoras. I own the book on Chamaedoras so that will help. Rhapis are interesting too. Ok I will drop the Braheas.

Thxs reynevan, I think I am going to do that Lytocaryum Weddellianum. A quick online search states that it does great indoors in low light conditions. Perfect!

About the Hyophorbe, is that spelled correctly? I can't find nothing palm related with that search word (No I haven't drank today LOL!)

Thxs a lot

Hyophorbe Lagenicaulis/ Verschaffeltii/ Indica  :)
I have couple of Lagenicaulis at my place and they survive winter indoors quite good.
If you're looking for small species, Pinanga or Calyptrocalyx are great but more difficult to find. RPS has many species to choose from :)

I have 2 Trachycarpus fortunei outside already but I was planning on doing the wagneranius from seed.

I also have 50 T.fortunei seedlings that I will overwinter and trade in the spring (If anyone wants to trade in the spring let me know.)

Pics of my large Trachy and Trachy seedlings below.

I just want to show you guys than I am not crazy, I took a screenshot when I searched the word "Hyophorbe" in the bing.com search engine. Nothing came up. I figured out that I was copying and pasting the word from this board and bing wanted me to actually type it. Go figure.

Since they are slow growing, you could probably keep a Jubaea around for a while indoors as long as it got enough light.  After it starts putting on size, you will likely want someone to "gift" it to though.  They get humongous.

Believe it or not my dad has one young one in his yard in France. I don’t have a pic.

I have had so much trouble with google that a year ago I switched to bing. I never have a problem or error msgs like google gave me. This is the first time.

But I know the trick now, don't cut and paste into the search field, type instead.
