@FoxpalmsWe have a lot of those sharks here, we call them a Grey Nurse, theyre protected and quite inoffensive.

There's lots of them around the canary islands and off the coast of portugal but they rarely travel this far north, especially considering the sea temperature is only around 10c at this time of the year.

56f in London today. The forecast looks pretty similar to San Francisco temperature wise and the fact we have a few sunny days and rainy days forecasted. Hopefully a few more 60f+ days before April to make up for the terrible start to the month!

We’ve just been to Reunion island and swimming and water sports in the ocean outside lagoons is banned due to a spate of shark attacks from Bull sharks, which I think is the same as the Grey Nurse shark in Australia. A girl was killed by one in the Swan river in Fremantle in February and they’ve now had sightings of big ones at Pier St jetty in Perth which is in the CBD.

I have read about that before reunion banning swimming. The bull sharks are a different species from the sand Tiger sharks. The sand tiger sharks are pretty harmless and calm whilst the bull sharks are more aggressive and have bad eye sight which means they tend to test things with their mouth, which leads to attacks. I think they can also survive in both freshwater and saltwater so after cyclones/hurricane's apparently they can occasionally be found in golf course lakes in Florida and Australia. Both species are fine to swim with as long as the water has good visibility and you are able to keep an eye on the shark. I don't think there has ever been a bull shark sighting off the UK and the only months of the year the sea temperature would be just warm enough for them would be July to September. Even in southern Europe and the canary islands bull sharks aren't as common as they are off the east coast of the USA because despite the gulf stream which warms northern Europe the currents around the canary islands come from northern Europe whilst the east coast of the USA has the Gulfstream bringing warm waters from the Caribbean. The canaries are far south enough the water doesn't get cold but it doesn't get hot either ranging from 19c-25c. The sharks that are typically found in water waters have been on the rise here during the summer months in recent years such as hammerheads.

The high was 16c/60.8f in London with 65% humidity which is warmer than it will be in Los angles today. It has been sun and clouds all day though more on the cloudy side. However just now it has turned to clear skies but it's too late in the day for any more solar heating. If only the clouds cleared 3 hours earlier! Between the gaps in the clouds, the UV briefly managed to reach a 4 today.

62.2f/16.7c with 59% humidity in London yesterday. Warmer than Los Angles again. Another mostly cloudy all day, with a thin layer of clouds that ocassionly allowed for 20-30mins of sunshine. It's currently 50f/10c at 5am. Tonight the sky has been fairly clear with a few clouds dotted about.

Drove into Chandler today.

With lots in bloom the desert has gone from green, green, green to a sea of green with swaths of rusty orange, gold, and patches of lilac. Saguaros surrounded by vegetation.

YTD very unofficial backyard rainfall is up to 3.76 inches after trace rainfall yesterday.

After a longer period of nice spring weather we're looking forward to a drastic cool down next week. Today's been sunny with the interference of several thunderstorms and a high of 18.1°C in my garden. Apperently it's supposed to get pretty cold on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures staying below 10°C and a one night with a low of 1°C or even 0°C, depending on the weather forecast service. After that it should warm up again. As the past couple of days have always been warmer and drier than they were predicted I hope this will also turn out to be true for the upcoming cold air next week. It's not a freeze or anything but still unseasnoably cold for the end of March. Other than that spring is completely on and nature is finally starting to look greener and greener! ☀️⛈️:greenthumb:

1:45 AM March 25, Lakeland Florida, 20°C/68°F.  Humidity 89%.  Going to be 32-33°C/90-92°F for  the next week or so (well pretty close to that for the at least 6months).  Daytime humidity isn't too bad yet, cooler nights give some nice dew for the mounted orchids and bromeliads, otherwise very dry.  Need to water regularly until we get some spring rain and then the copious summer rains.  Everything growing like crazy.

This is turning out to be the dullest/cloudiest March on record for my location and one of the wettest too. I have only had around 30 hours of sunshine so far this month with just 3 days left to go. The previous record low is about 45 hours of sunshine, so it will almost certainly finish as the dullest March ever looking at the forecast. It’s actually one of the dullest months of the past 10-15 years here. Shockingly low sunshine numbers. More cloudy skies and rain to come however. Nothing above 16C / 60F either for the next 10-14 days.

B7196F8F-FA73-42BD-8B57-201E8230D3DA.thumb.jpeg.4222c0cd67bf6702a8866924c4653af0.jpeg

I have had nearly 3 inches of rain as well now and the record wettest March is only 3.4 inches here. More rain this month than the whole of winter. Overall, a terrible start to spring for us. It has felt more like February with the lack of sun and warmth. At least the nights are mild and the drought situation is improving again ahead of the drier summer period. We’re desperate for some proper warmth now though. The past 3-4 months have been crap in this part of the world. This weather isn’t doing the exotics any favours, which are trying to recover from the two winter freezes.

@UK_Palms London has only had 55 hours of sunshine this month which is awful for this time of the year. The forecast looks drier for mid April, however that could change. There not much heat in forecast either. The Jetstream forecast isn't great either.

Hovering between 79-82F in the neighborhood... Pretty nice day out there today.. Wall to wall sun, with the slightest of breeze at times. Can definitely feel the sun's influence on the temperature..

Roller coaster ride continues with another day in the 80s tomorrow, a chilly - for late March- low to mid 60s Thursday ..before more 80s again over the weekend ..Then more 70s as we head through Easter week..  Maybe a few light showers Thursday, otherwise looking pretty dry locally going forward..

If you want real cool come down here. 8.8C yesterday morning, 5.7C today. The forecast was for 13C. Nowhere down here is anywhere near the forecast min except maybe Michelmas Island. We were having 18 and 19C mins last week.

Im really noticing the difference of coming down to 35S from 20S. In the 20s you’re in varying amounts of low pressure with constant trade winds lightly blowing from the east roughly. Down in the mid thirties you’re smack bang in the middle of the subtropical ridge with highs that move through, alternated by weak cold fronts.

61F at 10:59PM after a VERY stressful day that included:

..Heading east of the valley at 7 AM  ...to get in some shooting ( pictures ),  a flat tire ..on a very dangerous stretch of the highway to and from where i went,  ..and ...easily..  the best neighbors anyone could ask for..  Even if that ment spending the rest of the day ..and evening...  doing everything possible to find a place to pick up a new..  ..or at least repair.. the tire on a day when 99% of tire places are closed.  ...Then put it on ..in the dark, on that dangerous stretch of highway..

Neighbors back to their house / Me ..and the car.. back home, after  9:30 ..PM..

UGH, lol.. What a day!!  ...and all i was after were spring flowers,  haha.

Could we flirt with / crack 100F ...for the first time this year? -and wayy ahead of average-  by the start of next week??  ..after the unusually / persistently chilly Fall/Winter/ opening of Spring we've experienced?  We'll see..

For now, time to call some places about tires..

As thought, scraped 39F right at Sunrise. Already on the rebound at 44F. Nice start ...to a hot rest of the week... ahead.

Morning temperature roundup across the east valley, and areas south to the AZ / Mexico border south of Tucson.. Chilly in many of the traditionally cool spots ...esp. for April..  A few downright frigid readings down toward Sonoita ..at 5K ft in elevation.. Would suspect those spots are highly wind sheltered, or maybe the readings are off..
