Plant or no plant

Looking for input. I have a 9' and 11' Trachy windmill in 45 gallon pots very heavy got them late a very good price. should i plant or put them in a warehouse i have?  I can keep the temp at 40 45F its radiant heat in floors and keep it dark so it would be like they were protected but inside a warehouse like a big box. i'm afraid if i plant them this late they wont be acclimated and when i protect and open in spring they'll be toast. Thank you so much for any thoughts? I'm zone 5b 40 miles up from 6a. Thank you

My first thought is don't plant them until spring. They need a whole growing season to establish themselves in the ground in your climate. It seemed counterintuitive to me at first but I've heard of several instances of people keeping cold hardy palms in chilly, dark garages in a state of refrigeration all winter. The palms survived with no adverse effects. I can't grow Trachies but I assume you will provide yours protection and supplemental heat in your 5b winters. I don't know of any palms that can survive winters that far north without both.

Thanks and yes they will be protected. My climate location on average is 11F warmer then Montreal and they survive up there with good winter protection as I've seen.
