Steves Place

Here are some pics of Steve in SoCal's place in Fallbrook. Probably barely a quarter of what he has growing, so I"ll have to get more pics the next time I go.  As usual the pics don't do it justice. His collection of succulents is incredible. He will have to help with names because there were too many for me to remember. I did not get that many pics of his palms (too awestruck by the agaves) so I will have to get them on round two.

Enjoy

Here is part of my booty that I threw in my truck while Steve wasn't looking   (I said, "hun you distract him and I'll be loadin") Picked up a couple Yucca rostrata,  five or six different agaves and a few other assorted palms. He has a lot of good stuff.

Thank You again Steve for the Tour, your place kicks arse.

Nice spread! Let's all go to Steve's this weekend. I have photos from enough angles to find the place without too much trouble. I think Kris is trying to find a way to stick a $20 bill between the leaf bases of that CIDP in post 13.

Matt,

Thanks for taking the time to show us all and give us a tour.Your pics. are nice.

Steve,

Your yard is looking nice!! Not what were used to seeing here in South Florida. I bet you could grow a great Ravenea xerophylla there. Have you tried yet? keep the yard pics. coming. And I like all the little garden art placed around.

Matt...I let you steal all that stuff because I was enjoying being distracted by your beautiful wife   :P

Your shots came out great...I have trouble shooting the sun, you need to give me some tips. I didn't know you were taking 90% of those pictures (like I said, I was distracted)

Kris...sorry Matt had to be the one to get you those CIDP shots...I guess I take them for granted.

Jeff...Rav Xerophila in the nursery, but none in the ground yet...soon though.

Ray...whatcha got?

Tad...put us on your 'must see' list next time out this way.

And for the locals (Terry etal) ....I will have another Palm Board get together when I finish my current remodel. I had one about 3.5 years ago when I bought this house...18 months from now will be 5 years from the first, and LOTS will have been done.

So, Steve, it looks like you really ARE a horticultural genius!   That place is fabulous!  Lucky you to be able to grow such exotic agaves!  Where are you in So.Cal?  I was out there 2 wks ago and traveled up and down and up and down around San Diego county (too many frik'n hills there!!) looking for drug, er, palm dealers.

Cindy when you were at Gary Woods place you were about 3 miles? from Steves place...

About right Steve?

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!
