Big deal!! And even though it says "in the contiguous 48 states" elsewhere in the article, seems like whoever wrote it has difficulties with the concept that Hawaii is part of the U.S. This is what it says

"The 10 rainiest cities in the U.S. by amount of annual rainfall include:

Mobile, Ala.: 67 inches average annual rainfall; 59 average annual rainy days"

Hilo's average is right around 129 inches. Leaves those other places in the dust. Literally....

Leilani Estates, 25 mls/40 km south of Hilo, Big Island of Hawai'i. Elevation 880 ft/270 m. Average rainfall 140 inches/3550 mm

You should be used to that by now. Hawaii is an after thought for Mainland news. And the Big Island is even an after thought for the Hawaiian news.

And I hope it stays that way. :)

BTW --- Heck, I'm on the dry side and I get as much rain as Mobile about half the time.

my city came in number 9. wish we would get some of that rain....were in servere drought right now.
