If they are outside there, you might not need to water at all.  Probably once a week ish unless the UK gets one of its freak every 10-year heat waves.

Yes all my palms are kept outside in potss even the cold weather doesnt touch them.I found out potted trachys need more water than ones in the ground so what you think about watering around 3 or maybe 4 times a week since water drains away within 1 day.

My T. Fortunei are in very small pots, just 1 foot tall and I only water them if we go over a week without rain. However, they are kept in a part of my yard that only gets 3-4 hours of direct sunlight so that's probably why they take a while to dry out.

I feel the same way as Ben, you probably don't need to water yours in the UK very much, except for the warmest days during the summer.

I really don't think you will need to water them more than twice a week max in your climate.  3-4 times a week is likely to be too much, IMO.

Up here in the PNW our climate is similar to yours in the UK but we are warmer than you in the summer. October(ish) to May(ish) is our rainy season. My potted TF are usually exposed to the rain and I don't need to water hardly at all. If I have any still potted after the rainy season ends I will water according to the weather. If we are on a hot dry streak I'll water every other day or every third day or so. I have not had any issues with this watering schedule and trachys. Oh and I usually use water from a pond across the street from my house rather than the water from the hose if I can help it.
