Wanted to share since I'm impressed with growth so far of one of my Pinanga Thai mottled palms

Have 3 total but this is the most recent one and wanted to show the growth difference in a matter of 3 days. Not usually expecting a mail order bare root palm to show growth so soon as they(all palms) usually sit and do nothing or a period of time.  I've had this palm for about a week but didn't mark it right away.

I am awaiting on a similar species to arrive a Pinanga copelandii which I hope exhibits similar growth speed. Not much is written about these two species as far as care.

Next to Kentia and Rhapis I have a Bizzie in my living room for a few years now.

50 Liter pot, and i finally figured the thing out this winter - dont keep it to dry, and as much light as you could give it. Ignore dry air etc, as long as its light, moist and warm! This winter was the first fully pest-free, 2 new leaves over the dark times and looking fully healthy. Starting to trunk...

Furthermore i have a selection of Chamadorea thats expanding rapidly.... These are rocksolid living room palms that will adapt to even the deepest of shades, will flower and seed under these conditions.

I should have anticipated that one Scott....its not the easiest species indoors. It took me a while to be able to maintain my bizzie and keep a proper palm. Hyophorbe seems a bigger challenge as they keep leaving me...

expect a few indoor pics in weekend.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have a fairly tolerant Majesty Palm and highly tolerant Parlour Palm growing steadily in my room.
