enigma99
Look at this... a little too early for this to be happening. Once we get into an el nino pattern and storms come from the Pacific, it should be more mild. We won't have any freezing temps from this, but it will be chilly! brrr. Hopefully this pattern will change soon! Edited November 12, 2015 by enigma99

Brett in Mission Viejo
Here in MIssion Viejo in Orange County the NWS is forecasting 38F, 3C. That is with partial cloud cover. Could have been 34F , 1C if clear. I'll warm up the grotto pool for the Bottle and Spindle nearby. Frost cloth already in place for my smaller Pritchardias with no canopy. enigma99
Tue night could be a little cold in some areas. At this point, my bananas already got burned from the freak Thanksgiving freeze that was a direct hit for NorCal, so I don't care that much now. The first freeze is always the hardest With high pressure sitting off the coast of California, it is going to keep pulling in arctic air for the next couple of weeks at least. (Since it rotates air clockwise) Edited December 11, 2015 by enigma99

Mon thru Wed are terrible. Models are not really reliable beyond 3 days but it looks like Monday and Tuesday won't be that bad and then will warm up from there. Except there will be some radiative cooling on Monday and Tuesday nights, so the low cold spots might dip below freezing. Monday night I think it will be wet enough that it won't be that cold, but Tuesday is day 2 of the dry north winds and will probably lower the dew points a bit more so my location will probably drop below 32. (Fingers crossed - NOAA is saying 32) Also the models are showing next weekend's cold air mass will get completely moderated from the ocean and we'll see lows in the 40s not 30s. Thank goodness! Maybe this is a sign things are finally starting to turn around pattern wise. Edited December 13, 2015 by enigma99

I got tired of risking it so I brought my cocos inside until the forecast looks better. They are opening new fronds right now and haven't slowed too much even though they were outside when temps were in the high 30's and low 40's for a few nights.
