How Bout a 'Color' thread?

Featured Replies

We need a bit of color on the board. Post away!

I'll start with some Calyptrocalyx in the garden, all going off at the same time. Understory gems for any garden

if they will grow for you.

C. leptostacyhs, C. pachystachys, and C. pachystachys 'mottled.'

Oh what a beautiful thread!  My kind of thread, for sure!

Tim, we saw these all over in the forest on Sainte Marie, wonder who they are?  :)  Plenty of color in these little understory palms.  Was this D. forticifolia?

Here is my Heterospathe elata,

Lived in Cape Coral, Miami, Orlando and St. Petersburg Florida.

Conservatory palms always look so perfect not being bothered from wind- love it. Here's one from the Missouri Botanical Gardens Conservatory (called the "Climatron"): they have a gorgeous to-die-for royal palm in there with a brown looking crownshaft.
