dypsis prestoniana up close pictures. it's about 15' tall and growing very fast

For scale I'm wearing a size 10 shoe. I'm about 4-5 leaf bases away from getting my first flower

Dypsis dypsis mananjarensis "true mealy bug" was planted just a couple months ago.

This has got to be one of the crown jewels of my new garden.

It planted out at a whopping 16' tall and is only 1 leaf base away from it's first solid ring of trunk.

it was 95F at the garden in vista today.

Welllllllll, I do carve tikis in my spare time Carl......But I'm knee deep in soil at the moment so maybe we can have Adam carve a couple of your washies...lol

here is the slick willy that was recently planted in the Vista garden. This palm is already super old. my guess it's probably 15 years old from a 20 gal. Its a very impressive dypsis and super hard to find them this size here in California. I really enjoy the lime green trunk and the cinnamon brown ring scars this palm boasts.

Here is another palm that was just planted last week in the garden. This ravenea madsgascariensis Var. Monticola thingy is a very special palm indeed. Every time I walk under it I'm totally amazed by its size at stature. This palm is super colorful and a great piece for the Vista garden. Wow, you are creating a palm paradise, Josh!

You waited so much until posting about your yard, but now you are on top of growers, for sure!

I know what you are going through. One year ago i began a new palm yard too :) and it has been so cute to take care of it...

I think a tour will be a couple years out. I want to make sure the detail of the garden is spot on first.

Here is a nice triple planting of my least favorite solitary dypsis. They are kind of sparse with their leaf structure so I decided to plant theses big ol' boys in a triple setting to give them a bit of depth and fullness. All three of these are mature and flower giving off viable seed. My helper and I had a hard time planting these since they only weighed a million tons and were in a very heavy soil medium.

Not gonna lie, this took a lot out of us to dig and plant these SPECIMENS in the ground. wee were pooped to say the least.

 

I have a couple 25 gals left if any one is interested in buying one, just send me a PM if interested.I was original going to do a planting of 5 but decided against it.
