Thanks for all of the pics everyone. I love this palm but, unbelievably have only seen two on our island (Big Island) in Hawaii even though we have a great climate for it. Wish I could have found one before we filled our garden to the brim.........guess I'll have to live vicariously through your pictures.

Located at 1500' elevation in Kona on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii.

Average annual rainfall is about 60"; temperature around 80 degrees.

The sickness has begun....lol

Your CIDP looks fine, as do your other plants. This is the time to get everything in the ground....don't delay. Just be sure to pick your spots carefully as it is always detrimental to some extent to move something later on. With your climate .... that thing will be a monster in a few years.

Someone on here said one time....."The best time to plant a palm was 20 years ago. .....the next best time is today" Welcome to Palmtalk.

The best (and tastiest) way to cure those deer feeding on your palms is archery equipment and a steady hand.

Yeah I'm very sick lol!

Thanks Alice I'll post some better pics of my CIDP today. I'm a little nervous I might pruned too much a few months ago but I kinda had to from the deer as I explained it is doing okay though for transplanting right before winter wouldn't you say?
