Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would post mine but all you would see is white fly.

How aggressively can you prune these without risking the life of the plant?

Keep them in the sun.

That helps more than anything.

Other than that, you can prune hard and they come back, but, in the shade so do the WF . . .

Hey Adam,

I second Dave's opinion on this, you can prune them back hard and they will come raging back. I cut an eight year old plant down to almost nothing earlier this year (had planned to completely take it out but never got around to it), it looks like a brand new plant now, much thicker and healthier looking. Unfortunately the battle against white fly at my place is constant regardless of how much sun I put them in.

Thanks Pete!

Nice blooms Dave!

Interesting cultivar Mike, looks like a prolific bloomer!

I don't know what this hibiscus is. It mostly had solid pink blooms but every once in a while it throws off a pink and white flower. The first time I saw a pink & white flower I thought maybe it was a sport but another one showed up on another branch. Then I thought it was a sickly flower but the flowers seem healthy. Weird. Has anyone else had this happen?

Angela, it is the depressing time of the year for me and blooms. You were here right when things were going south for the winter :)

Blake, buy CoreTect pellets. You will never get Whitefly or Aphids again. They last about 3 months from what I have seen and they have a fertilizer in them. Not cheap, but they work for any plant.

Thanks for the heads up Len! Apparently it kills leaf miner too which would be fantastic since I have several large citrus trees that get attacked every time they flush. I will track some down and give it a try.

It is just Imidacloprid (like found in Bayer systemic) but it is in a concentrated form and last a while. I bought mine on Amazon.

Today our hibiscus "Black Dragon" has a record breaking bloom of five flowers at once! I was told by someone on a hibiscus forum (that no longer exists) that Black Dragon wouldn't grow for us because it's too wet & cold here. So I'm just glad it's alive!

wonderful plants putu enjula
All Aglow and Black Dragon are just fantastic
do you get seeds where you are , if yes is there a trick to it
as my plants seem not to set seeds for me even if i pollinate them , the seeds start but they drop off just after the pod forms
i live in a zone 10 mediterranean climate

Found this hibiscus in Mexico. Both pictures from the same bush. 1% of the flowers showed white and pink, the remaining flowers were all white or all pink.
