This is a large animal park with lots of open space. It seems like an African Safari. You can tour the park in trucks and get an up close encounter with the animals. It is located just east of Escondido in Northern San Diego. It is about 20 miles inland from the ocean and gets hot in the summer. Here are some pictures of some palms and others. My palm id's are terrible so I will just post the photos.post-4818-0-41042100-1357021609_thumb.jppost-4818-0-08102700-1357021643_thumb.jp

Cool photos nick! With all the palms at the zoo and the wild animal park it's hard to pay any attention to the animals.

My avatar was taken in that walk through aviary. Was taken during one of their spring live exotic butterfly exhibitions - an amazing exhibition that should not be missed. - gmp
