Rarely up that early ( Sunrise is at  5:18AM here this time of year )  but when i am, it's sometimes worth it, haha. Unfortunately, i missed lift off over Apache Leap by about 5 mins. I'd actually hoped to catch the sun rising over Picket Post Mountain, but, will have to wait a few months for it to be back in the right position..

Dragged my butt out of bed early this Sunday morning to try and capture some sunrise photos...was a fun exercise, although a little cool seeing as it is the middle of winter...but managed to get a few shots...I love how the colour changes every few seconds...

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!

Some very moody Stormy Tuesday Morning shots, after a very loud, early, and unexpected wake up call.

A pair of morning Bolts..  I could have filmed earlier when the storm was moving overhead and slinging some serious electricity, though w/ all the really close strikes, ...and very heavy rain that quickly set in, it would have been a dicey endeavor, especially when barely awake.

Another storm that formed along a linear " lift line / Convergence Zone " draped west to east over this part of the valley and formed in the wake of the main storm as it moved on and was well on it's way to " Storm Heaven ".

As innocent as this little cloud  w/ a little rain falling from might look,  this is a good example of a storm type you don't trust..  ....the kind that stays silent, until the electricity starts flying..  ...No pre- cloud to ground strike " reporting " ( ..Where lightning activity starts up in the clouds ..grumbling for a little while.. before unleashing it's first CG bolt ) as the storm intensifies.  Have had my fare share of  close calls w/ this kind of storm..

I'm actually surprised it too didn't start stabbing stuff as it intensified a little more as it followed the same path the main storm traced as it headed east out of the area.

Some nice morning rays as total activity settles down.

On YouTube there is a St Augustine live webcam channel. One camera is pointed Eastward at the Castillo of San Marcos. On nice days we can view the sunrise over the fort.
