I thought that those who weren't able to attend might enjoy a glimpse of where we stayed. Those deciding whether or not to attend future Biennials (you should!!) might come upon this thread as well. I know I looked at everything I could find about previous Biennials before taking the plunge this year. I was quite comfortable and pleased with each location. I'll start with our first night-in Bangkok at the Grand Four Wings Hotel. The city view and pool photos were taken from my window.

Next was the Tawa Ravadee Hotel in Prachinburi. Note the Endless pool which many enjoyed. The charming elephant statues hinted at the real ones to come at Nong Nooch.

The remaining days were happily spent at Nong Nooch, some of us by the pool and others a short walk away. My roommate and I were lucky enough to get a garden villa surrounded by our own rare palms. Note the skywalk overhead which allowed us to be in the canopy of many palms. The pool was a popular cooling off/gathering spot before dinner. However it was never crowded and in fact sometimes I had the entire huge pool to myself complete with fountains useful for massaging necks (sore from staring up at palms) and a plumeria motif on the tile floor. The bar was just a few feet away which many found convenient for poolside drinks.

Cool idea Cindy, here's a few of mine to add. I must say I was impressed with the accommodation.

Bangkok Grand Four Wings Hotel where Colin, Daryl and myself stayed two nights along with many others. Thanks Bill for staying up or waking to greet us on arrival, we will always cherish that moment, very much appreciated.

A couple of outside pics at the Tawa Ravadee Hotel in Prachinburi. For those of you who missed my rendition of "Yesterday" with the live Thai duo in the bar that night, you are the lucky ones.

Nongnooch was superb accommodation, one of the best spots though was in the lobby area where people met before and after events, to try and log on to the internet etc.

Just one pic inside the cabin showing a shared lounge.

Jumped in the pool right after.. must say, the second pool was my fav... cause it was warmer.. I was surprised how much the NongNooch pool temp changed..

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

"The great workman of nature is time."   ,  "Genius is nothing but a great aptitude for patience."

-George-Louis Leclerc de Buffon-

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!
