3 seedlings, largest about 3' tall overall, in lawn with no protection... already all three shown frost damage from previous nights where temps only got down to 35F... all exposed to 27F (possibly a few degrees cooler) for 5hours and showing pretty severe leaf damage... though newest leaves still look viable.

Now that it's been 8 days, I can tell all leaves will be lost on all 3 seedlings... but all have newly emerging leaves visible down in their dark little holes, so fingers are crossed!

Pretty much dead now... and this was the healthiest of the three... ouch.  Also in this photo are seedlings of S etonia (foreground) and S domingensis (just behind the yapa kindling)

Tiny 6-strapped leaf seedling in a pot, approx 2-gal sized, left in pot on front porch under eve with no additional heat or protection given whatsoever, no damage after 24F low and multiple nights below 28F.  No frost this event.
