I planted this D Pembana from a 7 gallon in late 2010.  I know the garden has approached 32 for brief periods just before the sun rises, but I haven't measure temps consistently over the years.  No frost that I have seen since moving into the house in 2014.  A very fast grower and the one is now flowering in full sun exposure.  Others in the garden in partial sun are much more stretched, but its the only one flowering.  Great grower

It is probably worth correcting myself a few years later on the id of this palm.  It is a Dypsis lanceolata.  I planted both in the garden and may have had them confused or perhaps even when I got them the names were reversed.  Over time, I have noticed that Dypsis lanceolata seems to perform better with both cold and dry heat for me than the Dypsis pembanas I have.   I haven't lost either species to cold, but just leaf tip burn is more prevalent with the pembanas versus the lanceolata.  I apologize for the bad id back in 2016 and the duration of time it took for me to note the correction.
