Fire in Flagler county has been smoking Gainesville out for several days. Last night was VERY smokey, reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile at my house. They update this map daily, I believe.

If the current drought continues, expect this map to "light up".

Also, I saw 100F at my house yesterday, with extremely dry conditions.

Here in New Port Richey we have not had much smoke, but this dryness is getting old. We did get rains a week ago when that low crossed the state, but the endless sunshine and seabreezes dried that out. June is not looking good for moisture. We need a pattern change. Thank god we do not see the 100F you see. Seabreezes keep us around 90-93F at the most, but the humidity has been unusually low. What's up with that?

Begonias are my thing. I've been growing and selling them for three decades, nearly two in Tampa Bay. NPR is an bhour N of St Pete, coast
