...POTENTIAL CONTINUES FOR STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS

CHRISTMAS DAY...

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE NORTH CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO THIS EVENING

WILL INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES NORTHEAST INTO THE SOUTHEASTERN GULF

STATES TONIGHT AND MONDAY...WITH A COLD FRONT EXTENDING

SOUTHWESTWARD INTO THE GULF. A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS

WILL PRECEDE THE COLD FRONT...AND SOME STORMS MAY BE SEVERE WITH

THE PRIMARY THREAT BEING STRONG DAMAGING WINDS. THE STRONGEST

STORMS COULD SPAWN WATERSPOUTS OVER THE GULF...OR EVEN AN

ISOLATED TORNADO OVER THE PENINSULA.

HEAVY RAINS ARE EXPECTED WITH THIS SYSTEM...WITH MANY AREAS

RECEIVING 1 TO 2 INCHES BY LATE MONDAY. THESE HEAVY RAINS MAY

CAUSE MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AS

WELL AS PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS.

The rain was welcome; the tornados - definitely not.

Homes were damaged in Pasco County, in Tampa near some golf club thing, and in Lake City.   Several injuries, fortunately no fatalities.
