Fastest cycad I've ever seen.  You are starting with a big one!  I'll bet the next flush will give leaves twice as long as the first.

I'd love to see updated pics of any of these! I have three of these that I potted up from liners directly into 5 gallon containers - anticipating some fast growth.

I recently acquired this Cycas Revoluta x Cycas Debaoensis from rprimbs. The caudex of this plant is now at least 12" and will be trunking within the next couple of years. The leaves were well over my head before I cut them in half for transport. As you can see it is coning so if anyone is in need of pollen please let me know.

Thanks Jim. I am hoping It will flush a new set of leaves by the end of the summer. It will sure look a lot better than it does now. BTW, thanks again for the tour of your amazing garden. You have a great selection of plants.

Nice score!  I don't have room for the hybrid anywhere without removing something else at this point.... so having to settle for a little flush on one of my Cycas debaoensis.  This flush is much taller than the previous on this plant as you can see.  I have another in heavier shade, but this one seems to appreciate the half day morning sun and reflected heat of the brick planter to it's west.

Thanks. I think the hybrid will do much better with the inland heat than the cycas debaoensis. I wish I had shady spot left to plant one as I really like the Debaoensis. Yours is looking great. Is the Debaoensis a fast grower for you? I am blown away at how fast the hybrid is.

Usually one flush per year on the Cycas debaoensis I have, which is definitely slower than the hybrid Cycas I have.  Sometimes when the debaoensis pushes just one leaf, it will later push another, but I wouldn't call that multiple flushes, more of a sequential flush.  I'm sure that you get both added hot and cold tolerance with the revoluta "bloodlines" added.
