Tropical Storm Force Winds!

An interesting weather change is in store for all Florida Regions.

A very strong & far to the south Jet Stream has caused a very strong pressure gradient to set up over the central & lower Florida Peninsular areas.

Tropical storm force winds of from 45-57 MPH have been recorded at my weather station in SW Broward County (Miramar-Pembroke Pines-Weston-Southwest Ranches-Davie.) The device also recorded a 60 MPH gust at 3:07 PM today.

After the cold front passes sometime this early evening, slightly cooler (but drier) air will filter in. The temperatures will drop a notch of two (from today's) 92 F. in SW Broward County, Fla. :mrlooney:

The real chill down is to occur, on WEdnesday evening, when a reinforcing shot of cold, clear, Canadian! will give us some inland areas of South Florida readings possibly down into the lower 50's F. (but Metro Ft. Lauderdale-Miami will probably only experience low temperatures in the upper 50's to lower 60's (some 6-9 degrees F. below the early April normal.) :hmm:

I would imagine that PalmTalk members in northwest & north central Florida will likely see some patchy frost on Wed. &/or Thurs. from 6 AM till 8:30 AM. Check with your local NWS Forecasts for more specific detailed information.

END OF REPORT.
