Banana Seeds

HUH?

I"ve eatten a lot of bananas in my days but have never seen a seed that I thought I could get out and plant.

Only 3 hurricanes in the past 51 years and no damage. No floods where I am, No tornados, No earthquakes
No moles, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, etc. Just the neighbors "wild" chickens

most bananas that u have probably eaten are cavendish....they do have seeds but are sterile and wont sprout....they are obtained by pups/suckers from a banana plant.....there are ornamental bananas that do have seeds but arent edible or are but too seedy that arent worth eating because banana seeds are like little pebbles and will break your teeth.

now if u want some edible bananas u might want to try musa 1000 fingers,musa double mahoi,musa cavendish,musa brazilian,musa orinoco,musa ice cream,etc.

now if u want ornamental bananas that produce seeds now u might want to get

musa velutina,musa ornata,musa beccarii etc. and some that arent banans but look like bananas are ensete superbum, ensete maurelii,

ok well hope this helps u choose a type that produces seed

Thanks. We have lots of edible bananas avalable here in the islands.

Once in a while there are the ornamentals in the shops.
