BS Man about Palms Posted June 7, 2008 Report Share Posted June 7, 2008 So far, this appears to be a fairly hardy palm for So Cal. I had a small 1 gal sit outside ALL winter in a pot (only brought in when I thought might reach mid 30's, about 4-5 times) It regularly saw high 30's, and although slow, continues to plug along! I do know of a larger one at Matt P's and it is in the ground and growing... Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.
