What's this plant?  How big is it?  I know it likes the sun.  I'm quite certain I got it from you.

I want to plant it, but I want to be sure it won't get too big or rot from too much water.  It seems reasonably happy here at the Death Camp.

Dave,

that's Ficus petiolaris.  It can grow to about 20', it's extremely drought tolerant but can also handle a good amount of water.  Wants full sun or it will stretch.  If you torture it, it will grow quite a nice caudex.  Best in a succulent garden.

Hy I saw this one in the wild in Sonora back in July. I have pics somewhere of one, and I think they get a bit taller than 20 feet. I saw them in Nacapule Canyon, along with about 3 to 4 other Ficus species. I'll find the pics and post them in a bit.

I have four of these cool tree.  I've seen some picture of specimens up to 30 feet.  Mine had a couple of fruits last year(fig).  I do not think it is edible.

Another nice tree is the shaving brush tree.  They have white or pink brush flowers.  I think it is very nice also.  Here's one of mine.
